The Hurting Heart
Firstly, I want you to read through today’s activity in full before getting started.
Just for a moment I want you to close your eyes and sit as quietly as you can. I want you to feel your own heartbeat. I want you to follow the rhythm of each beat for at least 5 minutes.
Now I want you tap into the pain of losing your mum that is resting in your heart. This may require you to be very creative, imagining you are able to go into your own heart. Your heart is carrying a tremendous amount of suffering and loss. Your heart is very tired.
Our heart carries the weight of our emotions and at times needs our attention. This exercise is to give your heart a voice. Let it speak to you and express the tiredness and the ache that has lived there since your mother died.
Using your journal write what your heart speaks to you in as many words as you can.
